My name is John Keohane. I am running for Milton Select Board.
I grew up in Roslindale, the fifth of ten children. I graduated from Boston Technical High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in architecture.
My wife Cathy and I have lived in our two-family house on Antwerp Street in East Milton since 2008.
We have two daughters and four grandchildren.
Since living in Milton, I have been a Town Meeting Member (P7), East Milton Neighborhood Association Board Member, and
an election poll volunteer.
I love my neighbors and my neighborhood. Personally and professionally, I want to be part of the solution; I want to leave our world in better shape for my grandchildren.
The world’s dependency on oil is growing stronger and the supply getting lower, it has never been more important
to conserve energy.
I am a certified HERS® (Home Energy Rating System) rater. I collaborate with design professionals, contractors, and homeowners comply with the myriad of ever-changing regulations and program thresholds that are being implemented
in Massachusetts.
I conduct pre-construction design analysis to determine the most cost effective compliance path, and to optimize energy efficiency and rebate incentives. We're in a three year national energy code update cycle, combined with a MA specific “stretch code” cycle and additional requirements reference from these codes.
